The trip to Munich began with a detailed architectural tour of the museum quarter with its historical and modern buildings.
The next day, Werner Murrer and his team gave us an exciting and educational insight into the subject of artist frames in their impressive framing atelier, with a specific focus on Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. We will all certainly look at works of art and their frames from a different perspective in the future. After a rickshaw ride along the Isar and a wonderful meal in the Seehaus in the English Garden, Robert Ketterer welcomed us to his auction house, which has been renovated to the latest standards. We were all thrilled by the stimulating descriptions of the auction business, as well as the high-quality works of art that we were able to view on site. An evening in the traditional Zum Franziskaner beer garden rounded off the successful day.
The trip ended with a visit to the Lenbachhaus zum Blauen Reiter, a lunch in a cheerful atmosphere and a stimulating tour of the Schack Collection on Sunday.
On the way back to Switzerland, ideas for the next trip were already being exchanged!
