The architecture student Ernst Ludwig Kirchner drew ornaments in the Art Nouveau style of the time. They often have symmetrical shapes and have a calming effect. In yoga, there are symmetrical poses that mirror the body on both sides. The body in symmetrical yoga poses is balanced and aligned. The focus is therefore on grounding and stabilising the body.
The yoga class in the museum's exhibition rooms will have a repetitive character. This means that smaller and larger sequences will be repeated. What patterns become recognisable in our thoughts and feelings when we practise the same asanas over and over again?
With yoga teacher Harriet Grachten. In co-operation with yogaplaza Davos
